Revitalizing your skin has never been easier than with Forma radiofrequency (RF) treatment at Skin & Beauty Center! Our advanced non-invasive treatments give you the bright, smooth, youthful-looking skin you want with no downtime.
What is Radiofrequency (RF) Skin Rejuvenation?
Healing and revitalizing your skin begins from the inside out. While some topical treatments can help mask or temporarily improve some skin issues, radiofrequency skin rejuvenation treatments can give you natural, lasting results.
RF skin treatments are exactly what they sound like. Targeted radio frequencies are used to stimulate your body’s natural cell renewal and collagen production. This fully customizable treatment can address any number of skin issues, including:
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Crow’s feet
- Frown lines
- Acne scars
- Jowls and loose skin
How Does Forma RF Skin Treatment Work?
Radiofrequency skin treatment is quick and relatively painless. During your appointment, your provider will use the Forma RF device to target the specific problem areas.
The radio waves generate low levels of heat below the skin’s surface, stimulating your body’s natural healing response. This destroys old, damaged cells and replaces them with newer, healthier ones.
The heat also encourages renewed collagen and elastin production, which naturally depletes as you age. The result is plumper, more youthful-looking skin for a timeless look.
What Can I Expect During My Forma Radiofrequency Session?
Before your first Forma treatment session, your provider will conduct a skin exam to help customize your experience and ensure you’re happy with your results.
During your treatment, your provider will apply a layer of ultrasound gel to your face to aid in conducting the radio waves into the desired area. Following this step, the Forma device is gently glided across the skin in even, circular motions as it gradually works to heat the underlying tissues and promote natural healing.
You may experience some tingling or warmth during your session. For radiofrequency facial treatments targeting deeper layers of skin the heat may feel more intense, but it should not feel painful or like a burning sensation. Your provider will closely monitor the temperature at the treatment area to ensure it stays in a safe but effective range.
What Can I Expect After My RF Facial Treatment?
While RF facial rejuvenation and skin tightening is less invasive than other treatment methods, you may experience some mild side effects. These include:
- Mild swelling
- Mild pain and discomfort
Typically these symptoms will clear on their own within 24 hours of your session. In some cases it may take a few days for skin to return to its normal color. If redness and swelling persist use a cold compress and antihistamine medication to help alleviate the discomfort. You may also take over-the-counter painkillers to manage any lingering pain.
It is best to avoid applying any makeup or heavy cosmetic products until the day after your treatment. Serums may be used to help boost healing and skin repair. Be sure to wear sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 to protect your skin from additional damage.
When Will I See Results?
It’s important to remember that radiofrequency facials work from the inside out. It will take time to see noticeable results – typically within 2 to 6 months of treatment. A follow up session may be necessary to achieve the desired results for patients with more significant skin issues.
During the recovery period after your Forma RF facial, it’s important to do everything you can to protect your skin and help assure the best results. Your provider will walk you through aftercare procedures and tips, be sure to follow these instructions closely.
If you are combining radiofrequency with another treatment such as microneedling, these aftercare directions are particularly important for avoiding complications such as skin infections. If you have any questions or concerns, be sure to reach out to our team at Skin & Beauty Center. We will gladly answer any questions before and after your treatment.
