Syed O. Ali, MD is an experienced Medical, Cosmetic, Surgical and Research Dermatologist who has been practicing Dermatology since 2002. He is Board Certified by, and a Fellow of, the American Board of Dermatology. Dr. Ali is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and The University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. He completed his Dermatology Residency training at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium.
During his years of Active Duty service in the US Army, Dr. Ali served as a Flight Surgeon for the Texas National Guard and Reserve and as the Chief Medical Officer for the Western Corridor of Korea, as well as the Chief of Dermatology at D.D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia. He was a Clinical Associate Professor for Dermatology Residents at The Medical College of Georgia. In 2008, he served as the Chief Medical Officer for Phipps Troop Medical Center in Balad, Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. During the length of his deployment, Dr. Ali was credited as the physician who cared for the most patients in the entire theater of operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. He frequently collaborated on cases with other specialists such as Plastic Surgery, ENT, and Oral Surgery, allowing him to expand his clinical expertise.

Dr. Ali has frequently been recognized by many organizations for excellence, including Living Magazine (of which he was voted Best Dermatologist 2014-2021). Dr. Ali is bilingual, fluent in both Spanish and English.
He has been married to his beautiful wife Edith for 27 years. Edith is an Acclaimed Interior Designer, who runs Bella Casa Design. Dr. Ali enjoys spending his time with his wife and visiting his adult children.
Dr. Ali’s approach to treatment begins with active listening to the patient’s concerns followed by a discussion with his patients about their options. Dr. Ali believes an informed patient is the best patient and encourages them to take an active role in the decision process before deciding on a treatment. His goal is to provide the best care possible while taking the patients goals and desires for treatment into mind.
