The sun is peeking out so you know what that means, time to head to the beach or your local park for some fun in the sun! But, before you pack up the car and head out don’t forget one very important thing, Sun Protection! Here at SBC, we want to help you protect your skin from those cancer-causing UV rays, so here are some super easy sunscreen tips you can incorporate into your daily skin care routine right away.
Should I wear Chemical or Physical Sunscreen?
Both are equally as great and offer great protection from the sun. They’re both safe and effective but people with sensitive skin might want to try physical sunscreen since it’s less likely to irritate skin.
What level of SPF should I use?
According to the Skin Cancer Foundation, if you’re going to be spending most of your day indoors, an SPF of 15 or higher is fine. If you’re spending the day outdoors, though, it is recommended to use sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher.
Is wearing sunscreen enough to protect me from the sun?
Wearing sunscreen is a great start but there are always more ways to protect your skin from those UV rays. Wearing a wide-brim sun hat, sunglasses, and covering sun-exposed areas with clothes are other ways to stay protected.
