Gaining Confidence

Millions of people suffer from varicose veins and spider veins. They can often be a source of embarrassment for many people that they resort to wearing long skirts, pants or stockings to cover them up. If you are one of these people who feels self-conscious about their veins, it is time to consider a simple, minimally invasive procedure that will not only get rid of those pesky leg veins, but will also give you the confidence to start wearing shorts and dresses again.

Sclerotherapy is the gold standard for treating leg veins. It involves injecting a solution directly into the vein, which causes the vein to close and eventually fade. It is primarily performed for spider veins and smaller varicose veins.

The procedure typically takes anywhere between 15-30 minutes, depending on the number of veins being treated and the treatment area. Anesthesia is unnecessary prior to the procedure and patients are able to resume their normal activity immediately. Walking and moving your legs is encouraged in order to prevent blood clots from forming. Patients are instructed to wear compression stockings for at least two weeks to maintain compression on the treated veins.
